Genre : Misteri e gialli ,Libri #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “Terrific . . . affecting . . . Grisham has done it again.”—Maureen Corrigan, The Washington Post
In the small Florida town of Seabrook, a young lawyer named Keith Russo was shot dead at his desk as he worked late one night. The killer left no clues. There were no witnesses, no one with a motive. But the police soon came to suspect Quincy Miller, a young black man who was once a client of Russo’s.
Quincy was tried, convicted, and sent to prison for life. For twenty-two years he languished in prison, maintaining his innocence. But no one was listening. He had no lawyer, no advocate on the outside. In desperation, he writes a letter to Guardian Ministries, a small nonprofit run by Cullen Post, a lawyer who is also an Episcopal minister.
Guardian accepts only a few innocence cases at a time. Cullen Post travels the country fighting wrongful convictions and taking on clients forgotten by the system. With Quincy Miller, though, he gets far more than he bargained for. Powerful, ruthless people murdered Keith Russo, and they do not want Quincy Miller exonerated.
They killed one lawyer twenty-two years ago, and they will kill another without a second thought.

Wasted money
Another disappointment from John Grisham. After reading books like The Client, The Firm, Runaway Jury, his more recent offerings pale. They’re boring, preachy, hard to get through and a colossal waste of money. I doubt I’ll buy another one of his books again unless I find it on the sale rack. Grisham used to be my favorite author. Now I’m just a disillusioned former fan.

A must read
An easy to read and understand book that gives information about innocent people being convicted and many times totally set up, even when the punishment is death. We need to fix our justice system to stop prosecutorial misconduct which allows a guilty person to remain free to commit more crimes. Based on a real case, read this book to see if this man gets found not guilty in time or will he be executed with drugs that may actually cause severe suffering while killing him?

Like many of the other reviewers, I have read every Grisham novel. The Guardians is another classic. Detailed and educating, this based-on-a-true-story book takes us out of our comfortable self focused lives and helps us to realize that there are real victims who are wasting away in prisons because of corrupt people. It should anger us. Hats off to John Grisham for disclosing this travesty.

Not what I expected but so good!
I’m so glad I read this. Grisham’s skilled writing made me wish I could be one of the Guardians. It started out slow but thoughtful, the pace of the lawyers at work striving to exonerate their clients. The final third was great, full of pieces coming together and a bit of adventure; I couldn’t put it down. I appreciate understanding this area of our failed system better and my heart breaks for those paying for crimes they didn’t commit. A huge thank you to lawyers who sacrifice so that some may go free. Keep up the good work and may God bless you!

Too many poorly developed characters. Several rambling plots. Author continuously denigrates small town people and small town life. A real elitist.

Another Great One From Grisham...
Amazing story and I welled up at the end. Can’t say enough about the story detail, the pace and the emotion of this wonderful book. I read all of Grisham’s books and he is on a roll with The Guardians and previously Rooster Bar!

I can always count on Grisham to deliver. I am an avid reader and have read all of his books. Unlike other big name writers, Grisham stand true to his mission to write books with substance. I was saddened when I got to the last pages. Lots of twists and turns, this is a new story line for him but he delivers masterfully. Great read and well worth the money. Thank you, Mr Grisham for continuing to care about your readers.

Great book . . wonderful story!
A gripping book . . Completely different plot than what I’m used to from Grisham. Pulling for a convict . . imagine that! A good, but sad story . . never knew the background behind writing it. Kudos to Grisham . . loved the reference to The Salty Pelican, my favorite place on Amelia!

Great Story
I didn’t know the sole purpose of certain organizations was to work toward exonerating those falsely accused of crimes. It was very interesting to learn how hard these people work to prove innocence. The dedication to their purpose has to be admired. Well done!

A let down
Predictable, boring, doesn’t seem like it was written by Grisham. Nothing exciting going on in this one

Great story and great humanism displayed by the author. Wonderful to know that there are dedicated crusaders out there who sacrifice their lives for true justice.

Excellent read & really makes you think. Idea & some story is real. Grisham told the story & your reaction & ponderance of the topic is your own take away. As a writer he always makes me think & look at things from a different perspective while still making it entertaining & a page turner. Highly recommend. GA Booklover

Engaging and Eye-opening
Like many of the other reviewers, I have read every Grisham novel. The Guardians is another classic. Detailed and educating, this based-on-a-true-story book takes us out of our comfortable self focused lives and helps us to realize that there are real victims who are wasting away in prisons because of corrupt people. It should anger us. Hats off to John Grisham for disclosing this travesty.

Clever, magnetic character’s, lost sleep trying to read it all.
Fantastic read with all the elements of humanity at its worst and very best. The sleuthy scenes are magical and you can’t get enough. This was a prize to read.

By scapes101 I found it hard to put this book down. As usual the details, the details, the details and the anticipation keeps me reading. Read every book John Grisham has written and kept them all for future rereads.

Impressive edge of your seat novel.
It took 3 days to complete reading this. John Grisham always keeps me up at night since I can’t put the book down. To know that there men and women wrongly incarcerated is maddening. I’m thankful Mr. Grisham is using his gift of writing to shed light in this area and hopefully effect change.

The Guardians
Grisham has lost his way. A book filled with SJW talking points. From page turners like The Firm to ranting about the injustice of the justice system. I’m done with this author. You’ve lectured me for the last time.
